NEWTHINGS® ‘EMERGENCY BLANKET’

On October 30th NEWTHINGS® lanuches its new capsule collection, ‘Emergency Blanket,’available exclusively on www.ilikewnthings.com. The capsule’s lookbook and campaign brings together numerous NYC creatives including Mayan Raj of New York’s M5 Showroom as Art Director, Set Designer and Photographer, Cate Urena makeup artist, and Shawn Powers — PALACE skater and Artist — as lookbook and campaign model. ‘Emergency Blanket’ experiments with a variety of concepts Creative Director Edwin Bolta continue exploring across multiple platforms.

The capsule draws its main inspiration from the unsual amount of natural disasters that have occurred during 2017 and the global response and assitance including NEWTHINGS fundraiser and donation drive last month in NYC for Puerto Rico. ‘EMERGENCY BLANKET’ is a tapestry of of vibes that work unitedly together as all of us should on a global level.

Keeping in mind these inspirations, this capsule’s designs prioritize sustainability, waste reduction and giving back. Translating this concept into tangible products, the NEWTHINGS capsule includes over dyed organic denim, corduroy, heavy weight military-grade nylon, ripstop nylon, and ripstop cotton garments that are made to order. Many garments are hand dyed in earthy and weathered blues, reds, and grays, and with RIRI zippers throughout.

Working seamlessly with new silhouettes including the Firefighter TekJacket, Exo Denim Long Jacket, Neoprene FlatBody TekPouch, Painter Pant, 3M Reflective Crossbody Pack, Tape Welded 4 Panel Cap, and an actual Silver Emergency Blanket. With every purchase one emergency blanket will be gifted and 4 will be donated to people affected by natural disasters. NEWTHINGS staples such as the Protect Vest and Perfect Pant are available, also, in updated materials and finishes.

In true NEWTHINGS fashion, ‘Emergency Blanket’ serves as a stepping stone to their first full collection presented and available to the public during NYC fashion week in February 2018.
